You can either download the client or click on the listen tab. What's neat about their approach, is that you can search for certain phrases or types of music.
Once the music starts streaming you can love/ban each song. Eventually last.fm figures out what music you like, and you find new bands and similar music types that you would have never known before. And music that you don't like gets filtered out all together.
